It's been almost three years since I have been in Japan. I mean, the last time I was there in 2019, I got engaged in Osaka. I really thought that I would be back in Japan a lot sooner as well...
And then the world went to hell due to Covid. Not only did Covid seriously affect Texas and the rest of the United States, but I could also see from NHK and ANN that Japan was also starting to be affected as well.
I can imagine that a lot has changed since September 2019. But I can't help but feel a little nervous going back. I have a feeling that some of the stores, places I used to frequent in Tokyo, and some other places are probably gone because of the pandemic.
I think the first thing I'm going to ask myself when I land in Narita is probably something close to this picture...
*Wow... I'm really back in Japan... But have three years REALLY passed?"
Even so, I am still excited to see my (soon to be) in-law's, Ayaka's family, and all of the other friends that are traveling to Japan to celebrate our engagement. Family and friends are more important to me than stores, or places I used to hang out at because they can be replaced. Family and friends... not as much.
I'll send out another post later this week giving you guys an idea of what my travel plans look like this time around.
Stay tuned Gaijin Groupies!!!
